Educational Backround
Personal Profile
My education at Liberty University has given me valuable experience in both interior design and construction, allowing me to develop a balanced understanding of the creative and technical sides of the industry.
Through interior design courses, I have strengthened my knowledge of space planning, design concepts, materials, and visual presentation, while my construction classes have expanded my understanding of building methods, project development, and the practical execution of design ideas.
Together, these studies are helping prepare me to create spaces that are not only visually compelling, but also functional, well-planned, and grounded in real-world construction knowledge.

Elements And Principals Of Interior Design

Rendering of Chair with Textile at 100% scale. Drawn using colored pencils.
Scale Project
Understanding how the scale of textile patterns, specifically with relation to upholstered
furniture, is an important skill for an interior designer to hone.
For this assignment, I selected a
textile and then rendered it on the image of the chair provided. I then doubled the scale of the
same textile and rendered it on the same chair image to demonstrate how the size of the pattern
repeat impacts the way furniture presents in the design solution.

Visual Experience of an Interior Space Project
Learning how to manipulate the elements and principles of design begins by learning to
recognize them within the built environment.
In this multi-phase project, I began by taking a
photograph of an interior space and then broke it down into the elements of line, shape, texture,
and color.

Element of Line, Drawn Using Various Black Micron Pens.
Shape Project
For this assignment I examined my original image from the line assignment and
determined what parts of my drawing created negative space.
I then removed those from the
drawing and used black paper to highlight the shapes that were created.

Line Project
Line is the most basic of the elements of design and in this image I have rendered an
interior environment using only this simple tool. I employed varied line weights to demonstrate
hierarchy in this perspective drawing.

Visual Texture Project
Using implied line, I created this rendering of my interior space using stippling which resulted in the illusion of texture
and depth.

Revit Project
Understanding the core principles and uses of Revit through the process of designing and furnishing a residential home.
Students were given the option to use the template provided by the professor or create an original design from scratch, and I chose to design my own home.
Throughout the project, I developed floor plans with proper dimensions, furnished interior spaces, created 3D renderings, and produced walkthroughs to better present the design using Lumion.

Sketchup Project
Understanding the core principles and uses of SketchUp through the process of designing and modeling a complete residential home.
Students were responsible for creating a full house model that included the structure, exterior, interior spaces, materials, furniture, fixtures, and design details.
Throughout the project, I developed a detailed 3D house model in SketchUp, applied realistic materials and finishes, organized the design for presentation, and used Enscape to create renderings and a walkthrough video to better showcase the home for my portfolio.

AutoCAD Project
In Digital Drafting 1, I received in-depth instruction using AutoCAD through the process of drafting and designing new architectural floor plans with a focus on detail and the use of my own creativity. The major assignment during this course was converting a residential home into a clothing retail business. I worked on changing the building's layout for function and aesthetics, creating a positive consumer experience. I developed my technical drafting skills, sharpening my use of space and the design process. All these skills are essential for me to utilize in my future practice of architecture.

AutoCAD Project
Project Description
The Hawthorne House, built in 1932, is a modified American Four-Square with
original hardwood floors and 10’-0" ceilings. Working from a PDF floor plan provided
by my professor, I created an as-built drawing of the home in AutoCAD and then
transformed it into an upscale ladies' clothing boutique. I added an ADA-compliant
restroom and changing room and provided product displays throughout the space.
Demolition Plan Description
To transform the Hawthorne House into an upscale ladies' clothing boutique, I
eliminated the kitchen and small powder room. As the laundry room will eventually
become an ADA restroom, the exterior door was also demolished. By removing most of
the interior doors and part of the wall between two rooms I was able to create a space that
will provide flexibility for the boutique owner.

Construction Plan Description
To support the functionality of an upscale ladies' clothing boutique, I have
designed an ADA restroom where the laundry room was formerly located, added a
changing room, and provided product displays throughout the first floor of the building. To transform the Hawthorne House into an upscale ladies' clothing boutique, I

Elevations Description
To aid the owner and contractor in realizing my design goals for the
transformation of the Hawthorne House from a residence to an upscale ladies' clothing
boutique, I drew two elevations of my custom product display cabinetry. These
showcase products such as shoes, jackets, shirts, and bottom wear.

I have utilized various line weights to communicate hierarchy.
